learn to drive

I should be having driving lessons again and I can’t wait.
My dad got his this years insurance quote and they want a little over £400 more than they did last year and he was willing to keep me on but I said he should take me off and have cheap insurance for a while and ring them back up in about 8 weeks time and put me back on then.
Last year he put me on about 8 weeks after he got his insurance quote and only ended up paying around another £300 approx. for me so he is going to try that again.
But in the mean time I might as well have lessons and iron out my really bad habits and learn (again) how to do everything in the order and to the standard expected by the DSA.
So now i need to try and get the instructor I am after, I can fit in around him because I don’t need to have lessons at different times and weather conditions because I have had lots of driving experience over the last 9 months so can face any of them.
I can’t wait, I am excited about now as I am a super confident driver – probably too confident lol so it will be great to have lessons and go for my test!!

I must of forgot to write about my theory test.
Well all I can say is I PASSED!! hehe… I couldn’t believe it when I was told I has passed because I thought he was joking when he said it lol
I hadn’t done any kind of practice for the Hazard part so was very worried about that and went in not knowing what to expect and I didn’t like the Hazard part of the test if I am honest. You don’t get a good view of the road so can be harder to spot hazards as fast as you might do if you were driving.
I rushed through the questions, I just knew them all but there was one I flagged and went back and read. I think there was 35 minutes something left on the clock when I finsihed. I just didn’t see the point in spending ages and ages reading over the questions and just made sure I read all the answers before picking my answer/s because there sometimes are very similar answers and it could go either way.

I found the test centre today and it is a pain to get to I can tell you.
Not been in centre Preston before as wasn’t easy for me but I remember where it is and there is no where near to park so we have to park up before hand so we have to leave her at 9:45 to get in for 10:45. I have to be 15 mins early to sign in.

Up early Monday as I have heaps to do all day, wont get chance for much of a break Monday so have a early night on Monday so can get up earlier than normal on Tuesday and get ready etc and i won’t practice because u could practice too much.

Not long to go, most worried about the Hazard part as I can’t find my CD ROM and didn’t have time to go library today which is a total pain. I will have a quick look tomorrow round this room and hope I can find it as I will feel much better after just one go on it that’s for sure!!!!

My theory test is on the 28th November at 11am. So need to get revising for the theory part, see goal 43!!

I got a pack through from the Sun with some goodies in for the free driving thing.
I should recieve a phonecall from BSM in the next week or so to book an appointment for my free lesson. I don’t know if I will have any more lessons with BSM but I might as well as my free one with them and let them tell me how my driving is but I think I am going private still. hehe

FREE DRIVING LESSON IN THE SUN THIS WEEK!!!!!

I shall be starting driving lessons again next month :O) I am going to have hour long lessons and I might have two a week but I might have one, I don’t know yet as I am not paying for them. My dad is paying for them as a birthday gift :O)
I might get more done this time as I was having two hour lessons but I was lucky if I got an hour out of those two hours so my 19 hours probably were only 9-10 hours :os
I have picked up so many bad habits that they need sorting out first and foremost and when they are sorted out I only really need to work on my reversing, not the normal reversing as I am good at that – it’s that corner rubbish one lol.
I can’t wait :O) I am not staying with BSM, my dad is after a female who taught his bosses daughter (she needed 20 lesssons) and I am sure less than 10 hours will do so only 20 hours in total :OD me loves driving so can’t wait!!

I got to drive for 65 miles yesterday and it was amazing and very tiring – I am still tired from it today even though I had just over 9 hours sleep last night.
I was mainly driving down places with 50-60mph speed limits and it is amazing to see how many people passed me when I was doing those speeds. I didn’t speed once but it is easy to lose site of what speed you are driving but I managed to keep a constant speed so I am happy with that.
There was a 4 mile stretch of road with traffic lights every 100 yeards and I had to stop a lot but it is a load of good practice for when I start drving.

I don’t know when I am going to go back to having lessons again. I have no money at the moment and I know if my instructor wouldn’t of been the way he was being I would of passed ages ago.
I had 19 hours but I probably only got 40 minutes driving time in that time so I have done well under ten hours of lessons and I am sure if I would of gotten my proper two hours a week I would of passed ages and ages ago and it is so annoying that went on.

I really want to get out on my own but I just can’t afford the lesson. I am looking for a part time job but there isn’t nothing around at the moment and it is driving me round the bend.

Anyway with some luck I should start lessons in the next 6 weeks.

Well I don’t really wanna talk about today’s lesson because it wasn’t too good in places but was OKk at other times. I don’t know what is going on in my head but I wish that it would get itself together and fast as I am having way more lessons than I wanted to have.
I don’t know what it is but I keep on forgetting things and making little mistakes here and there and I don’t know why. I do concentrate but … oh I don’t know. I wish I could have 2×2 hours a week as I am sure that will help!!

My driving wasn’t as bad as my lesson last week because I haven’t drove my dad’s car :O)
I got to start from my house and was taken around time and along the busy roads around town up to Whiteberk and done a dual carriage way.
I then did some more sweeping left reverse and got up to a 4. I really don’t like the sweeping left reverse and so want to move on from that but at least he didn’t have me doing it all the lesson :O)
I have another lesson next Tuesday but before then I must pay for it as I haven’t paid for it. I have no money as well, I am really skint and I need to sort that out, maybe with a little part time job now one of my courses is about to finish :O)
