knit a sweater

ok, i haven’t written in forever, but I actually almost have the sweater done. it was painful because at one point the directions were, “knit until it measures 15 inches”

do you know how boring that is?! it took me months because I couldn’t bear the thought of trudging thru Knit purl knit purl for hours.

aaaaaaaand then I got over that. I’ve got my 15 inches and now I realize I don’t have the right sized DPN for the sleeves. humph

I’ve been to obsessed with my “Bicycling” magazines. so I only read on the subways and no knitting. Plus, it’s too damn hot to knit! I feel it’s kind of ridiculous to make a sweater when we are hitting triple digits outside, ya know?

the first step is the long one. I just knit a 1×1 rib until the work measures 15 inches. I’m almost there. I went with a dark denim blue in a lovely merino wool. yummy.

the yarn store is closed on Sunday and Monday.

oh, I’m glad to know someone out there likes the pattern, too! I think I’m going on Sunday to get the wool. I’ve made a list of eerything I need and put it in my palm pilot ready for reference. I have no idea what color, tho. I’m not going to do that coffee bean color.
