Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Went to visit and see them at baseball. Had a great weekend!!

Had a great weekend with them! Parks and museums and tinkertoys on my floor. Bouncy balls outside. Awesome!

K starts kindergarten in two weeks! ack! lol. Sent him a super groovy spiderman watch. And some shrinky dinks. :)

Had a great visit with the boys! K had his last 5yr old T ball game. CUTE!!! And we played football in the backyard. E’s 3rd bday was just the next week so I gave him his present – builder tools and a hard hat! A real hard hat! He was thrilled. We played dragons. Read lots of books. Got ice cream. They are such sweet cutie pies!!!

Got the boys foam airplanes! Now to put them in the mail!

Need to make valentine’s cards. Looked in the dollar area at Target which was ripe with Vday stuff. All GIRL stuff! gah. Hard to find cute valentine’s stuff for boys.

Made Easter bags for the boys. Recyclable grocery bags in a pretty Easter egg blue that say “A good planet is hard to find.” Moon sand, stickers, sketch book, sticky pad, fun tshirt, and fun microfiber towel. Hope they like them!!!

K is getting a puppet theater so I got him a really fabulous furry monster puppet. It is whimsical and gorgeous! Also a train piece for his Thomas Train set. And I’ll get a book for his library.

E is getting a stuffed monster from the same series as K’s puppet. I also found bendable Gumby and Pokey’s!!! And I’ll get a book for his library.

I need to get them special Christmas cards so they get their own. :)

Spent halloween with K and E and had a great time!!!!!!! Such cutie pies!!! We built cities and read books and hammered and set the table and all sorts of great things. They are so cute and wonderful. My sister is such a great mom. She and M are great parents. The bugs are such a joy!!

Talked to K yesterday. He just chattered away then said “bye” suddenly and gave the phone to his mom. We laughed. Guess he was done.
