Sadly, though, I won’t be able to meet this date/location. Next year would be great! And/or it would be great to meet everyone in the Denver/Boulder area, or whomever would like to show up in the Denver/Boulder area. ;-)

Hi all, have been reading all the wonderful ideas and thank you so much everyone and especially those getting into the nitty gritty now with detailed ideas!
I have to say that I learn toward something very open, without anyone paying anything up front and where anyone could possibly decide to go at the last minute. I think this would be the best spirit to approach the event with for a number of reasons:
- many folks have expressed that their going depends on it falling within financial limits
- many folks have expressed that their going depends on their scheduling, which may not be able to be confirmed until very soon before the event
- one of the most wonderful aspects of 43T is that some of the neatest goals, discussions, etc. happen when serendipity meets spontaneity
To me, a Pot Luck style event in the park with some kind of get-to-know-you scavenger hunt thing followed by an optional get-to-know-the-city type thing or people just grouping off and before separating saying where they’re off to so others can join if they like, seems like the most authentic 43T experience for a meetup.
No money exchange, no people awarded the best of anything, no time limit, and no reservations. Just a date, a time, a place, and the invitation to bring whatever you’d like to share with your new friends be it food, drink, music, art, what have you… and let the rest decide itself.
I do want the Robots to give a toast though, even if everyone brings nothing but apple butter and we all have to toast using jars of it.
Personally, I will be giving tarot readings for donations to fundraise my stopover in London – but I will have a supply of my CD on hand to give away free to some unsuspecting music lovers. Contact me privately if you would like me to save you one. =)
I am a good coordinating type person, so let me know how I can help. I will check the site out and get back to you guys soon. =)
p.s. for those of us coming over from the states, we could do something in New York on the way out, I’m guessing a lot of us would end up on the same flight. hmmm, maybe we could get an airline sponsor if we had a nice little group going… does anybody work for an airline that might like to sponsor a 43T Inaugural Transatlantic Voyage? heh, can you tell I used to work in Marketing?
