One of my strategies to create a successful business has been to place myself in situations and events where I am likely to meet like minded people.
I attended a seminar in Dublin on that basis a couple of weekends ago, and during the break had the pleasure of meeting a gentleman who was also a business coach. We exchanged business cards and he was put onto my TO DO list to follow up… you never know what can result from a friendly chat and I’m always looking for ways to network and connect.
He contacted me and we met yesterday, I’d sent him a link to my new website www.managementmatters.jimdo.com and he was very impressed. This gave me a boost in confidence that what I’m doing and the way I’m marketing myself is good! Particularly when he shared with me some of his working experience, which included being a managing director of a large multinational! :-)
He was so impressed with me that he has offered me 6 months mentoring, his time effort and energy into supporting me make a success of my business! He is also willing to invest some money into the business too!!
Persistence pays off!
I set a goal to meet exactly such a business man, that would have the experience and knowledge of setting up a business, that I don’t have and that has the finances to back me too! I set it to be achieved in July, at a specific business seminar, which didn’t happen. I’d gone through a feeling of well I failed at manifesting that intention, and then picked myself up and kept on perservering… and here we are, ok a couple of months later than I wanted, but hey, i now have what I wanted :-D
Sometimes I need to remind myself to be patient, if I’ve planted a good seed, and I continue to water and feed it and ensure it gets enough sunnlight, it will grow!
