see The Smashing Pumpkins live

New album out in July! I’m so happy! ;-)

..and playing in Toronto this year. OK so I won’t make it to Canada! but this means this goal is going back up. I thought I would have needed to be a real 90s Gen Xer to see this band but turns out I’m in with a chance again! Hopefully this is going to mean that people won’t look at me strangely when I say that this is my favourite band!

Michael Eavis has said that there is a huge suprise as the headliner at Glastonbury. Could it be? ;-) Here’s hoping!

I’d been able to see this happen. But I really think that there’s not much chance this will ever be able to be done! Perhaps I’ll see Billy Corgan on one of his solo ventures – who knows. xxx

This goal may never happen …. I live in hope that they’ll get back together one day. Their music has such power and intelligence – such great, bleak intelligence – and beauty, and despair and hope and is so full of contradictions. The complexity – and yet, strangely enough, the simplicity – make them the best band there ever was.
