"Dance till you're dead" mix

This week was my turn to bring music mix for dance night. Being close to Halloween, I went dark… but bouncy :)



Dance your cares away, worries for another day!

I’ve returned to a dance group (no boys, no booze, just dance) for three weeks in a row. I fell away a while back, being unemployed, but I’m getting my groove back. Even when I don’t know what the heck I’m doing, I am at least getting exercise. It is so wonderful to have this group of amazing women, and to let go of the week. ❤



for the sake of my ass-bones

I prefer exercise to be disguised as fun. Dancing, at least the way I dance like a pogo stick having a seizure? is rambunctious, weight-bearing, and fun. Wheeee! It will help build bone density like the highly recommended jump roping exercise (except my dancing is less rhythmic, and less likely to bruise my shins).

Gotta work my way up to 3-4 times/week. Any recommendations of bounce-able songs to add to my playlist?



tonite, while canning pear jam,

made of the last of the season’s pears from home, blasting Neil Diamond to an empty house, wearing my ruffled apron from childhood…. yes, dancing was the perfect companion :)



Wedding reception

with friends, lots of dancing, great music, barefoot, amazing… why don’t I dance more often, again?! :)



there is a lovely group of ladies here

that holds ladies-only dance parties every week. I did go dance my feet off last Sunday for the first time in a month or so… yay! I’m going to miss this week for Easter, but hope to attend more frequently than every 4-6 weeks.

Also… I need to join that polka club I’ve had on the back burner since October :D
