organize my bookmarks

I’m almost finished now to collect all my bookmarks into one place. There are only a few sources left to be merged in. Unfortnuately this got me really scared:
1. They’re far too many.
2. It seems almost impossible to group them.
My hope was to find a tagging scheme that helps me refind them when needed and maybe even present them publicly as a bookmark collection. But the more marks I try to tag, I’m complicating the whole mess.
This really gets my crying. I’ve spent three to five hours for the forth or fifth time now on this and it now looks like I have to give it up.
Sorry for the whining and all. Maybe my aim just was to high. Maybe this is really a too hard task.
But I don’t want to go back to not even collecting bookmarks but just remembering them in mind. So I have to get them organized somehow. How do you guys do this?
Well after having written this, I think I’m gonna keep fighting just a little bit longer… Despair can help, can’t it.
