I’m halfway through the wellness challenge and had my mid-assessment today. There are five wellness categories; very challenged (0-50), challenged (50-75), transition (75-100), good (100-125), and excellent (125-200). My initial wellness quotient was 62 and fell into the challenged category; today it was 93 bringing me up to the transition stage and pretty darn close to good! I’m quite excited, I intend to bring that number up even higher these next five weeks! I’m bound and determined to make it to the good category, but I think it would be quite awesome to hit excellent! We’ll just have to wait and see what happens. :D

I did some rearranging and created some space for my trampoline and exercise bike, took them out of the barn and brought them into the house so I’ll actually be able to use them. Yay!
Well, things are going quite nicely. I’ve been doing very well with my eating habits, not perfect, but still much improved. I went powerwalking today and worked my abs and stretched some. The exercise really was nice. The powerwalking should help me work up to more cardiovascular work. I’m taking it kind of slow cause I’m out of shape and have asthma, but with eating much under control, this is now where I need to put more emphasis. Exercise all around is important but my cardiovascular is really needing some work, I need to do more stretching too, particularly my hamstrings
I’m making a point to eat breakfast everyday within the first hour that I wake up. I also got some nice stainless steal waterbottles which should help me increase my water consumption. I also walked for an hour last night. I haven’t been doing much for exercise cause I hurt my back. Hopefully I’ll heal soon so that I can exercise more and avoid such injuries in the future.
I went shopping and bought a bunch of organic food. I hope to buy some more soon and to put it all to good use.
I started taking multivitamins today and Omega-3 fish oil. I’ve also started to use Proactive solution since I’d like healthy looking skin too. I’m 26 and still suffer breakouts so I hope this works.
Well, I’ve finished my assessments for the wellness challenge and kickoff is Jan 19th. I’ve also seen a chiropractor for the first time ever. I had my first adjustment done today and I honestly can’t remember a time in my life when my neck felt this wonderful. I’m excited to see how I’ll be feeling in the future! My X-rays were almost humorous, let’s just say I didn’t need an x-ray to know my spine has curves that shouldn’t be there, but seeing them definitely put things into better perspective. I had scoliosis when I was a kid, but I definitely didn’t grow out of it. So yeah, I’m looking forward to having a more functional spine and body.
I’m entering a wellness challenge. The top performer wins $1000. Not only will this help me with my goal to get fit, but it could also help me achieve my goal to win a contest. I really wouldn’t mind winning $1000, nope, wouldn’t mind that at all. And it would definitely be an incentive for me to push myself and get more serious about this goal. The program is for 10 weeks. I bet I could do a lot of good for myself in 10 weeks.
I’m changing my mentality from lose weight to get fit. It’s much more positive and honestly more important. There’s more to health than scales. I’ve lost about 4 pounds this month which I think is great. I’ve also been doing some ab work via a pilates DVD that I forgot I had, and via attending a free 1/2 hour class at my university offered, Mondays and Thursdays. I’ve only gone once as I just learned about it, but between that and my DVD I’m starting to feel pretty great. I’ve been eating fairly healthy too. I really need to start stretching more, I think that will be the next element I add.
