and I’ve only made one entry on this goal, way back in December. Time for a catch-up report. Since it’s been so long, I’ll probably miss a lot of things I share on here, but I’ll try to at least get all the highlights.

• Christmas and the holiday season. I can’t remember all the things I did now, but I know it was a wonderful celebration of Christ’s birth.
• A nice visit with a former roommate, made extra long because of the snowstorm/airport delay
• Visiting my nephew (and sister/BIL) in Seattle – watching his Aikido class, basketball game, traveling to Bremerton on the Ferry…
• Meeting Matty and LL – I didn’t not get to ride the Ducks, but I did get to go (again) to the top of the Space Needle, and lots of other great stuff
• Meeting Joshy, HikerGirl and HippiePig
• Meeting Carm
• Meeting Stephanie (Crazy Cat Lady)
• Celebrating the inauguration of Barack Obama in Seattle with Stephanie, my sister’s family, and lots of other friends
• Salmon and other yummy seafood you don’t see in Kansas too often
• ALASKA – WOW!!!
• Getting to see my brother after three years
• A quilt shop my brother couldn’t wait to show me – yes, I bought LOTS of fabric/no I haven’t made anything with it YET
• Celebrating Robert Burns Day, bagpipes, more salmon…
• More seafood, including freshly-caught oysters
• Thanksgiving in February – YUMMY!!!
• Bald Eagles
• Hiking along a Pacific Ocean beach
• A great little book shop
• lots more Alaska things should go here…
• Another unexpected visit with my nephew/sister/BIL when my plane leaving Ketchikan was delayed
• Good weather on my return home – including SUNSHINE :-)
• A happy wedding to go to – second marriage for both, it was great to see such smiles on their faces

she is already posting on her 2009 Resolution #1: Enjoy every day goal, and it’s still 2008. Meanwhile, I haven’t posted a thing on this goal, and I’ve been 50 for 38 days. So here’s 38 a few things I’ve enjoyed so far about being 50:

1. Lots of visitors from out-of-state, including friends, sisters, nephews and my dad
2. a big party with lots of friends and family coming to help me celebrate, including Stacey and G – YAY!
3. CHOCOLATE CAKE – decorated to look like a record player
4. A new dog, half Great Pyrenees/half St. Bernard, who goes by the name of Sarah
5. presents
6. flowers
7. A great virtual party on 43Things
8. Someone Else singing “Happy Birthday” to Tia Lu Lu
9. Going to the Plaza seeing all the Christmas lights with MamaKitty
10. My dad fixed the outlet for my sump pump in the basement
11. personal ;-)
12. Spending time with my neighbor
13. Getting holiday cards from 43T friends from all around the world
14. Seeing my college roommate (who’s also 50) for a (very short) visit over Thanksgiving
