The Loire Valley was the most fun part of our trip. Visiting les Chateaux and staying in medieval hotels was amazing. Everyone was really nice, friendly, and easy to talk with. This is important, especially if you are like me and believe that the people and culture of a place are what make it special! :)

It was beautiful, a little cold in early May but starting to warm up. Food was amazing. Countryside was gorgeous. Mediterranean was beautiful and breathtaking. Now for the downside, most of the Parisians were shit. Everything was super expensive for travelers. If you live there, you can get by via cooking and eating in. For tourists, you have to eat out and rely on public transportation or rent a car (double what it costs in the US), so nothing was ever “cheap”. Just the way it is. In Provence and the rest of the country, the people were professional and polite. No one is particularly “warm” and friendly. Polite is about as good as it gets. Takes some getting used to, especially if you are from the South like me. Overall, the trip of a lifetime. Just don’t go there with high expectations of efficiency or friendliness!!! :)
