Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

Still

haven’t gotten to the bathrooms, but I did do the daily upkeep on the kitchen today and I got some more laundry done. I guess it’s important to get the daily routine back in line and then move on to the not so daily stuff. I still want to get those nasty bathrooms done though!

The baby is pretty much over her cold, so I might have a tad bit more time to dedicate to cleaning…or sleeping. Haven’t decided which one yet :)



Slow Going

Now that I’ve got a baby in the house I’m a bit slower than I was before. Not only am I still healing and building my strength back up, but I’ve got someone who demands attention every now and then.

I’m slowly getting back in the swing of things, I emptied the dishwasher yesterday (didn’t have time to reload it), and I folded a bunch of laundry. Earlier this week I did a bunch of filing in the office and I got through some baby paperwork I left in Charlie’s room. My goal this week is to scrub down the bathrooms, their kinda gross right now.



Amazing

How much I’ve gotten done in the house this past year. The house is pretty much clean, except for a few organizing projects I need my hubby’s help with. It feels really good to get rid of the dirt and clutter. Hopefully by this time next year the house will be in line.



Just to be clear

I do keep my house clean, I’m talking about deep cleaning my house to remove as much “dirt” and excess crap (such as stuff to be donated). I’m getting closer to having this goal completed everyday with the little things I do to clean and organize. I really wish it was done right now, but hopefully soon. I have all of next week off, so maybe I can make some good headway on it then.



shredding

Now that I’ve finished my filing, I have a huge pile of shredding that needs to be done. I might get around to this tomorrow. I really like getting things organized and cleaned up, it makes me feel better. It’s kind of relaxing to know it’s done and I don’t have to deal with it anymore (for the time being, that is)



I had the kitchen done...

then I made supper. I guess it won’t take too long to clean up. oh…and I need to mop the floor, but that won’t take long once I get the motivation to do it.
