I feel much better in a lot of circumstances now. I think I just need to apply this principle to the big bad past as well, so that my present calmness can have completion.
I’m not getting the balance right. I’m getting pessimestic and getting depressed beacuse of it. But I am a lot calmer in the car when my sister drives like a maniac!
...Like service at a restaurant. I’ve been a waitress for 80% of my working life and I find that I always nit-pick other waitress’ services. However, I do sometimes feel that I have a justibfiable expecation… I mean, surely every other customer expects a smile and a ‘is there anything else I can help you with?’ too?
They say that if you have great expectations then you must be a very optimistic person. You get angry because you are optimistic and therfore have expectations of the world around you. I’m working slowly of bringing down my optimism, not too much, just so that it is equal to my cynicism and therefore erase any expectations I might have.
