Temps were in the mid-20s this afternoon with a light wind. I managed to get geared up and do a moderately long run to complete three for the week. Sure glad to have the newer sort of fabrics.
last week i got two runs in – missed the whole weekend again. i’m holding steady at least. but this week i am determined to do better. an earlier start will help…
i’ve been out of town mostly lately and staying in a downtown hotel in a rainy city. i just don’t feel like running really at all. last night i was sitting around thinking i probably wouldn’t get around to it again, but i knew that the chances of getting three runs in this week would be low if i didn’t get at least one in by wednesday. i grabbed some headphones and ran on the treadmill in the hotel’s fitness center while watching jericho. one down, two to go.
i usually run three or more times a week in warm weather, but i hardly ever run in the colder months. this year i’ve only got a few runs in since the end of august. i had a complete meltdown then after training fairly hard for three months. i’m not sure completely what happened. i think maybe i just put so much focus on it that other parts of my life got out of whack and one day it all boiled over. i think maybe shooting for 3x will be more sustainable and then we’ll see if i’m ready for more in the spring.
this goal is to get at least three runs in every week from now through the end of march 2007. I ran 45 minutes yesterday and did a slower, 30-minute recovery run today, both on the hotel treadmill. i find it boring, but portland is so cold and windy and rainy right now i can’t seem to run outside.
