I’ve been brutally culling my list tonight. Given up on most everything that is too vague and things that can be broken down better (for instance “get out of debt” may be longer term than what I want on here.) I will have a whole new list by the time 2009 rolls around if I can get focused.

Marked “be better at math” as done – hard to quantify but noticed improvement.
Removed “take better care of myself” and “Find a balance between the things I want to do and the things I need to do” – not specific enough.
Gave up on “read 35 books in 2008” – not going to happen.
I’m going to be taking a long, hard look at my list soon and editing it heavily. I may very well just delete everything and start over. I need my goals to match what I want to do now, not what I wanted to do months ago.
I’m seriously considering rewriting my entire list and completely redoing my 101 things in 1001 days list, too. I think that’s why I’m not here very often any more. My goals are out of touch with my every day life right now.
I need to do this. I look at my list and think “this is not where I am right now” and I’m even thinking of redoing my big 101 things in 1001 days list.
Ironically, I “gave up” on taking my vitamins every day for a month today, even though I took a vitamin this morning for the first time in ages. I don’t know if it’s all that important to me right now and I’d rather try adjusting my diet than just taking a supplement.
I’m getting rid of the goal “hang up the big mirror in my bedroom” because it’s been up for a year and it’s more of a to-do list kind of thing anyway. Plus, really it falls under the goal of “make my bedroom a sanctuary of peace” anyway.
“sort out my wardrobe” needs to be edited to a more specific goal but I haven’t decided on a wording yet.
Moved two goals (take vitamins daily and drink at least 1 liter of water a day) to “take better care of myself” rather than keeping them as normal goals.
I marked “Eat more fruits and vegetables” as done since I think I’m eating more than I was when I began the goal. It needs to be replaced with something more definitive though because I’m still not eating enough of them.
I added “Take better care of myself” and I plan to roll a few of my other goals into that one. In this particular case I think it’s better to have the one big goal instead of a bunch of smaller ones.
