michael chabon loves this town, but realistically. he knows its wonders and its embarrassments, and he appreciates them both. i still think of his characters when i walk over the bridge on forbes, or when i am in the pitt library. because it’s such an easy read, you might be tempted to overlook it, but it’s one of those that keeps speaking to you long after you’ve finished it. probably deserves a second read to catch the details you’ll miss by flipping the pages excitedly to find out what happens next.

albeit overly interested in masturbation, the hero/narrator is funny, pained, and ultimately, endearing. this is a good read.
