I was such a Springsteen nut in college that my roommate nicknamed me Bruce.

One of my favorite Bruce Springsteen albums, The River was released Oct. 10, 1980.

I was a freshman in college then, a long way from home, and I went out and bought the album on the day of its release. The sound was amazing - recorded live in the studio - and the songs resonated deeply.
