I’m now working in a men’s clothing shop… Not my ideal choice but hey, a job’s a job, right?
Had my first day yesterday and I haven’t decided whether or not I like it yet. I mean, the work itself is alright it’s just the people I’m not sure about…
Ah well, we’ll see how it goes!

I didn’t get the job at Ted Baker… I’m actually gutted cos I seriously thought I had a chance!
Seriously, what does anyone else have that I don’t?? I know I’m not experienced but everyone has to start somewhere, it’s not exactly a demanding job, and I’m probably more intelligent than half the other people that applied!
At least they called me to let me know, I guess. There have been times where companies just haven’t bothered to let me know.
Oh well, back to square one…

Tomorrow I find out whether or not I get the job at Ted Baker. I seriously hope I do, I think I’d fit in really well there, and it would just be awesome…
Wish me luck :)

So I got this work experience placement in an office, doing general administration work. It was pretty boring, but hey, it’s something extra to put on my CV… It was supposed to be unpaid but at the end of the six weeks I was there, they gave me a nice cheque as a kind of thank you/parting gift :D
Yesterday I had an interview for a full-time sales assistant position at Ted Baker. The interview went well, the people seem really friendly, and it just seems like a nice environment to work in. Plus, my friend knows the manager so he’s gonna put in a good word for me :P
I think I may be in with a chance here, yay! *does a celebratory dance* :D

through the Work Preparation scheme that I’ve been enrolled on. It’s an admin job, and I’ll be working three days a week, starting next Monday.
Okay, there’s no actual pay, but I can still claim my jobseeker’s allowance, and it will give me experience and confidence which will obviously help me find a full time paid job.
Still taking baby steps, but at least I’m getting somewhere now :)

over two weeks since I made my claim for JSA and my first payment still hasn’t gone into my account! I guess they must just be really busy due to the current high rate of unemployment and all that… but still, they said within 12 days! I’m slightly annoyed but I suppose it’ll get sorted out soon enough.
Anyway, I’m going to start re-writing my CV tonight so wish me luck on that. Also, I’ve applied to do “work preparation”, which is basically a placement of 6 to 13 weeks intended to improve my confidence and give me some more experience.
Maybe I’m finally making some progress here…

At the job centre on Monday, and I’ve applied for Job seeker’s allowance, so I guess at least that will give me a bit of money up until I find something.
It’s a small step, but I guess it’s a start.

I’m thinking of doing some kind of volunteer work just to get more experience, seeing as that’s probably the thing holding me back most right now.
Also it will give me an opportunity to do something good and help people out, which is always a nice thing :)
