reviewed the inter office working agreement and general office operating procedures manual. Everything seems to be smooth sailing so far. Everyone seems to be working together better and everyone has cooled off. We had a holiday pot luck last Thursday and pretty much just visited and ate all afternoon. I think the combination of the two was just what we needed. Everyone seems to be content. I hope it lasts.

So she has been doing better with her employee but a few seconds ago she was like “can we talk” I said “sure” then she was like “I don’t exactly know how to say this” I said “just say it” then she said “I thought we were trying to keep things local but my supervisor said that you have been telling him about problems” I said “Yes, I have spoken with him about you not communicating because it effects my staff too.” She then said that it was inappropriate for me to speak to him. I almost blew up. I should have said that I know she goes and talks shit to one of my board members about me all the time but I didn’t I just said that I would think about it. I should have also said that I knew she goes running to her supervisor all the time about really stupid things and how on earth am I suppose to trust her when she is constantly back stabbing us. Like when she tried to move the office to another town or when she tried to get 2 employees fired or when she threatened to turn us in on a grant for “misuse of funds” when we were doing absolutely nothing wrong or her sneaking around taking pictures of the produce in our office or when she said that one of my employees children we so loud and distracting that she couldn’t concentrate (which was not true) or when she said that she would write a grant then she suddenly disappeared for two weeks so we had to do it on our own. Aaagh!!!
actually happened yesterday. Her boss told her employees to start calling her on her crap. Which is exactly what I suggested they do. I hope that this will help. Her staff seemed pretty satisfied after the meeting yesterday.
She was also instructed to have a meeting with me to discuss how our staffs can collaborate and communicate better. I’ve been here for an hour now. Still waiting…
interesting. My counterpart in the office is finally getting called on her unacceptable performance. She was out of the office for two weeks and when she returned she didn’t even check in with her staff on what happened when she was gone and she has said a maximum of one sentence to them each day since she’s been back for the past 3 weeks. I really hope that the meeting today with her supervisor will “straighten her out”. The tension between her staff has been horrible and it’s effecting my staff too. I guess I’ll know by tonight.
Long Range Plan today. The board is excited for the future and I think it was good for the staff to see that the board has a interest in what we’re doing.
I was also just notified I was chosen by a reputable foundation in the state to attend a great leadership program over the next year. It’s a significant scholarship. I didn’t even apply, they just chose me,it is a great honor. It will be a great opportunity to network with the up and comers in the state.
are something that everyone in my office dreads, which we endure twice a month. So I suggested that we go out to lunch while staffing to make it more of a conversation/brain storming scession instead of I’m working on this and you need to do that, blah blah. We’re going to try it for lunch today.
has 5 full time year round employees. We work very hard most of the time and the stress is getting to everyone. Yesterday one of my employees said he’s depressed then I looked around and it’s like a theme in the office. I am going to do something I just don’t know what yet.
