Bring my own bags to the supermarket

I still don’t know whether I should take this off my list. Mostly in normal shops (ie cd, books etc) I have carrier bags but mostly I’m better at the local shop with saying I don’t need one but … still not perfect.

i got SO bad at this but now i have a few sainsburys bag for life – usually 10p but they were being given away last weekend. i have about 3 or 4 now as my friend also gave me one to carry some books in lol. so i have been taking one to the local shops. but i do wish in the shops in town they wouldn’t put stuff into a bad before i have the chance to say i don’t need a bag because once it’s in the bag i’m too stupid to tell them i don’t need it. oh well. keep trying!

i’m ashamed to say i’ve really gone downhill on this. keep getting carrier bags. Grr.

i take one step forward with this, then one back! grr. i had to use a carrier bag today as the shopping wouldn’t fit in my cloth bag. so i have now put the bag i used today in my bag for next time. just got to remember to take it out next time. and i used a bag on wednesday when they put my book in a bag before i had to chance to decline. i know i still could have but …well next time i will tell them to take it out lol.

i got one plastic bag from one shop today but said no thanks in two shops. then at the supermarket my dad got a couple of things and he didn’t bring any spare bags as usual so i made him not take another bag and put the stuff in my Bodyshop cloth bag. They just about fit lol. I’m getting there with this I think. Just got to bring used carrier bags as well as my cloth bag.

i nearly did well the other day. i said that i don’t need a bag thanks in about 2 out of 3 shops the other day but yes. i didn’t say no in the last shop. :( oh well i tried!

well i went to get a tub of ice cream from the shop over the road and i took a bag in my pocket. although i was just getting a small tub, the shop keeper was about to pull out a bag but i said that i had a bag with me. felt a bit weird but i’m proud i actually spoke out and didn’t waste yet another plastic bag :)

i keep meaning to do this but i’m so lazy! but i have about 100 carrier bags in my room and i just keep accumulating more and more it’s terrible! i must get in the habit of taking some with me when i go out.
