I was up to ten a day, and then I made a new friend on the bus which kept me out of the habit for a while. While it’s nice to be social-I don’t have a very flexible schedule and the study time the commute affords me is perfect for writing, provided I’ve got my mp3 player and my palm. I use a treo 300, it’s nice but nothing too fancy. It’s slower, of course than a full size keyboard, but it’s perfect for something short-like a joke. Or if you just want to edit a document or something. I recently got a piece of software called HandDbase. Jokes, are a fluid kind of artform, and its hard to keep track of them, they are perfect for databases because you can then sort them by subject and readiness and that sort of thing. Sadly, I’m not quite gelling with the software yet.

There was a seminar about it at media bistro, and it filled up faster than I could arrange a trip up there. Anywhoo, I try to write every day. I was doing 10 jokes a day for a while there, until I ran into a snag with my database program. What good are a hundred jokes if you can’t keep track of them? Once I get a database fixed this weekend, I’ll be back to writing more jokes than one can possibly use.
