Joined a training program back in 2000 or thereabouts with the goal of running the Seattle Marathon. But one weekend I decided to do some cross-training and went for a 25-mile bike ride, after not having been on a bike for years. Ended up tweaking my knee; I had trouble walking for a week and couldn’t run for several. Needless to say, I was in no shape to run a marathon after that. I will try again but am waiting for a time when my life is stable enough to allow me to dedicate myself to the training.
