The real reason to become an artist for anyone is believing you already are one. I think we crave to be “recognized” as one and in some deep level that is what we are looking for. I think we are all good artists when we do something we love, do it well, and someone is pleased and happier, healthir, better, because of it.

Let’s say you are a great mechanic and work on your friend’s car for nothing. You do a great job and he is loving it. You are then, an artist!!! Art is providing happiness to someone with the things we do with our hands. I love how it all came out. That is what I am feeling now.
