age gracefully

.. and I just had to post.. this isn’t a shabby shot of me, considering I’m going on 31. I’m not big on bragging, but I think this is a decent accomplishment! :D

So, I’m 30 years old. If you’re 19, I probably sound OLLLLLD.. if you’re 45, you probably still regard me as a kid. If you were to look at me, you may assume without knowing my age, that I’m about 24. (This is the generaly age that I am told I look like.)

I think some good foundational habits are getting put into place. I know that it’s the little things you do each day that add up over time.

I’m vegan, I don’t consume a lot of bad oils, try to eat raw as much as I can (but I eat a lot of just normally cooked foods too).. I am trying to preserve my youthful skin (it’s very pale and rather oily which can be annoying but good for preserving it’s supple youthful look). I don’t do a lot of sun time. Not a huge fan of bright sunny days with no cloud diffusers..

Now, I’m starting to bike commute every day. This is going to help tackle any weight gain I’ve had over the last 10 years. I’ve managed to stay in a safe weight range.

I don’t drink much alchohol, don’t smoke and don’t do drugs. My biggest vice is coffee, but I try to limit myself to one mug a day.

Above all, I think I’m a kid at heart and I’m not trying to race through life, doing all the things that a 30 year old “should” do. I don’t have kids, I’m not married and I’m not 10 years into my career. But I am a geek girl who still likes to play video games and occassionally goes out to goth clubs.

It’s all in the heart, and I refuse to be old in my soul.

Yeah.. this is a great “thing” to have on the list… But it got me wondering, when do you know when to take this off? Like.. at 90? “Well, I’m old but boy was the journey graceful.”... ;) Just having fun.
