The Downfall of Pompeii
w00t!
New Year’s Eve and Day were spent playing Apples to Apples and Trivial Pursuit with various folks.
Very fun.
Played at home on Christmas Eve with the family, then again several times on Christmas Day with my cousins. Lots of fun. Highly recommended.
Some friends from NaNoWriMo introduced me to Farkle when we went for beer and karaoke after our write-in last night. Fun and easy to learn!
I played some fun Cranium with my brother and his friends on our back patio. I didn’t think I’d like it much, after my last disastrous experience with the game, but it was great fun.
At my Going-Away Party, the gang who stayed late played a raucous game of Apples to Apples! Again, this is more of a card game than a board game, but the principle remains. It’s a really great game. Very enjoyable, especially when some of the party is drunk!
My friends and I played a rousing game of Taboo! while sitting on the sidewalk in downtown New York waiting on line for tickets to Shakespeare in the Park.
Does Taboo! count as a board game even though there isn’t a board?
I forgot – I played a final round of Star Wars Monopoly with my best friend and her husband before they moved from New York to return to our hometown, Houston, TX.
Since I’ll be in Houston myself by the end of the year, perhaps we’ll play again there.
Of course, it would help if I were even remotely any good at Monopoly. Give me a nice word game, or some trivia.
