I decided that I might want to go to Germany for a year of my degree so thought it would be a good idea to learn more German before going, so I just applied for IWLP German classes with my University. Just gotta wait now to see if they accept.

Well I’m in Austria at the moment, and last week I got back from Germany… Germany was so fun! And I really wanna go back.
Well I intend to move to Munich in 5 years anyway but that’s ages. I didn’t speak German to my friends, which I should have done but still… I did speak to some strangers because I had no choice.
In Austria I have only spoken a couple of words of German because I speak to my family in English. If I’m going to be seeing the person again I don’t like talking in German. Even if I don’t speak, being in a German speaking country still helps I guess…
I’m going to Germany for a week with a friend, and going to meet some friends out there.. So I might talk as there’ll be no adults around.. And when I get back I’m going to Austria for 2 weeks, so there’s plenty of time to learn it, but I doubt I will.
I was on a school trip last week to Germany. Although I didn’t speak much (surprise), I think I still learnt quite a bit, and it was fun. Anyway, me and a friend are gonna go back there at the end of July. She can’t speak any German and has never been to Germany before, so it’ll be down to me to translate and stoofs. But yeah, should be kewl!! And I’m also going to Austria at the end of August, and again I’m almost certain I wont talk, but I’ll just make an extra effort to at least listen to them rather than just get bored and stop.
There are too many cases. I need to make myself learn these, but I can’t be bothered to sit down, and learn when to use each one. But in my mock AS level listening and reading I got an A and a B, I haven’t done a mock oral yet.
I really need to go to Austria or Germany or somewhere on my own… Preferably Austria as I have family there and am not really old enough to go to a foreign country on my own lol.
I’m on holiday in Austria at the mo for the 12th time because I have family over here and I didn’t really want to come because I thought it would be boring as there’s no one my age here… But it’s actually been really good to see them again and, although I can speak a bit of German, I speak in English over here so I can’t really communicate with anyone here. I can understand most of what they say and they know I can but I want to be able to talk to them without thinking I’m saying everything wrong… And I may also consider going to an Austrian university… But that probably wont happen. But you never know. =)
