move in with my boyfriend

i’ve come to the conclusion that i definately want to move in with my boyfriend. we’ve talked a little about it and we need to talk a whole lot more about it and figure out where each other stands. we’ve been dating for 10 months and by the time it comes for my prospective move in date we’ll have been dating a year and three months.

is this enough time? i suppose it’s enough time when i feel it’s enough time. i think we’ll do nicely together… but i’m still warey of things going badly. i don’t think they will, but there will be a lot of nay-sayers. that’s what i fear most. others opinions on it.

i like that quite that quote from “The Science of Sleep” that Stephane says to his coworker about his relationship to Stephanie: “I don’t want your opinion! No one knows what goes on between us, yet everyone has an opinion!” I think it’s true. Everyone will have an opinion, but no one will know what really goes on between us and whether or not it’s good or bad.

I do know for one thing, that seeing him everyday again like it was in the begining will be wonderful.

my boyfriend moved an hour an a half away last june. we broke up, but a month later he showed up at my doorstep and told me he had made a big mistake and that he loved me very much. so we got back together. our relationship is ten times stronger. he wants me to move out of the city and to his little town with him. i’m disenchanted with my job, but haven’t worked there a full year yet. my apartment is in a bad part of the city and it’s grungy and dismal. my roommates are lazy. most of my friends have moved away.

so there are lots of reasons to go, but i still find it hard to think about leaving. i get attached to places where i nest even if they’re destructive to me. but i know once i leave i’ll be happy to be with him everyday like it was before he moved. i miss him very much. he wants me to move now, but i think it’s okay to wait for six months until we’ve been together for a year, i’ve worked at my job for a little over a year and i can collect a lot of money to make my move smooth.
