teach myself how to play the piano

I was taking a beginner piano class at my school. It was a one credit hour class, After only 3 classes, I was done with that class. I felt uncomfortable with the teacher, he was going too fast. He talked too fast, he taught too fast and it was just getting on my nerves. I dont know how he expected people with no musical background to get the hang of things right away.
I Still really want to learn how to play piano though and I know I would learn better going at a slower pace, therefore I am going to teach myself with the book. My goal is to be able to play tegan and sara and coldplay on the piano :)
