How I did it: I set up a rule to do at least one thing each month that I've never done before in my life. In some months it'll come by itself, in other's I hastily do something I've not done before on the last days of the month so I'll not break the rule. Occasionally I forgot the rule but always found something in retrospect that did count as a new thing I did.I've done this now for about 1.5 years and I won't stop. How I did it: I simply stopped eating meat from that day on and cannot imagine not having done so. Actually I go vegan whenever possible without too much hassle - in cases where someone who could never understand this kind of eating decisions would be offended by me not eating their cheesefilled something, I usualy compromise (if I don't want to offend them, that is..) I’ve started a couple of months ago, obviously trying to chronologically advance through his work – but it’s not easy to accomplish since early books and letters are in some cases published decades in retrospect.
Anyway, I’ve so far read The Rum Diary, Hell’s Angels, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas & Fear and Loathing on the Campain Trail 1972. The latter was a very matching read to the then current presidential elections..
Since a couple of weeks(?) I’m now reading through The Great Shark Hunt.
