So, Sam has moved back to canada, so I guess I’ll have to amend this to just going to the UK at some point.

So, I’ve taken my blanket to work every day last week. I worked on it three times. I added about four rows. A by-product is that I taught one of the kids at work to crochet too. Only the chain stitch, but she is hooked! She must’ve crocheted a five foot long chain the last day. It distracts me a bit from the goal, but is so much fun!
I have loved origami since high school. I loved the Sadako book, but never really felt drawn to folding 1000 cranes. I went to Japan in April/May, and visited Hiroshima. I now want to fold 1000 cranes.
I visited the museum, and saw some of the actual cranes that Sadako folded. I saw the destruction that the bomb brought. I saw a beautiful, vibrant modern city that carries on proudly, as thought they weren’t the victims of such a horrific act of war and politics. They carry on as survivors and try to spread a message of peace. I saw the millions of paper cranes that have been sent here from around the world. I want to fold cranes and remember all of this.
