How I did it: As a swimmer, I've always looked up to Michael Phelps and, of course, wanted to see him swim live instead of on TV. My parents were willing to compromise; they wanted to go to China in 2008, during the same times as the Beijing Olympics.We planned almost a year ahead, knowing that tickets would be difficult to purchase. This Saturday is going to be fantastic. Recarpeting my room + getting a new room set = Major happiness.
How I’m getting better:
- doing my homework days and weeks before it’s due
- actually doing homework and not spending class time working on it
- performing my chores without anyone reminding me
- setting goals for myself
- reading self-help books (yes, they really are motivating!)
- using Google Tasks, Google Calendar, and my planner to help sort out – ideas and reminding myself when things are due
- seeing how much better I feel when I don’t procrastinate!
