My default mode is negative. Finding the silver lining? Nope. Regardless of the situation, I can come to a conclusion that ends with everyone dead. (Which, you must admit, is a warped talent. I didn’t say I was PROUD of it, though.)
So, sure. I definitely could use a little optimism; I think this is an excellent goal. It will certainly be an interesting undertaking.

Just want to try and do my part to preserve our planet. I’m not perfect, but I do what I can. Something is better than nothing.

...this is the goal I’m probably doing the best with, so far. (I am (was?) the ultimate couch potato. Regarding exercise, I tend to get really gung-ho in the beginning, do it for maybe a week, complain about how hard it is/sore I am, and flake out.) Soon after making my list, the company I work for started this fitness program for the summer. This is precisely what I need—if I have to track it, I’m more apt to do it. Of course, the first week was brutal. I’ve managed not to flake for about a month now, and have already surpassed the goal that they set for us at work! I feel great, and plan to stick with it.
