As just about anyone knows, losing weight and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is full of rewards and riddled w/even more challenges. I’m proud to say to date I’ve lost nearly 30 lbs since last summer. My goal is to reach my target weight by mid-June 2008. I strive to meet the recommended 10k steps/day goal. My average is around 6-7k/wk. I’m conditioning myself for Running. I also occassionally play tennis-casually, and plan to take up swimming, which I hear gives a good total-body workout. I do some yoga and workout vids at times too. I don’t smoke, drink or abuse substances. I try to drink 4-6 glasses water day (8 is hard). I take vitamins and eat well…my vices are breads, pastas and rices. I only give in to my ultimate vice (cheesecake) about 1-3x/year! This is stuff I do on my own. I’d like to look into being on a “real” diet/weight mgmt plan—w/monitoring. Any feedback from anyone would be helpful. Thx for your support!

I’m not deathly afraid of water…I love the Lake, Beach and Ocean; I even like hanging out poolside and wading in the water…just as long as it’s in the 4ft or below section! I really, really want to finally conquer, no master, things like wading and swimming in the “deep” side. I’ve taken lessons w/the Red Cross 2x in my life, but never swam enough to master what was taught. These episodes did help relieve some childhood anxieties, and build sonme confidence and now I think I’m ready to call myself a real, skilled swimmer. This is definitely something I’m going to do this year! I’ve already reseached a couple places, one of which is my neighborhood recreation center. It even offers several Aquatics classes. The challenge now: making the time!
