As I predicted back in March, I was able to enjoy a glass of port on a sail boat during my Bachelor party. On Saturday, a group of us sailed out of Camden, ME for a 4 trip. In addition to the local microbrews, single malt scotches and Kentucky bourbons, I enjoyed a fine glass of 20 year old port. It was quite a wonderful experience; one you should try if you ever get the chance.

This summer I purchased a custom made suit, which should be the centerpiece to any great wardrobe. I’m very happy with my suit, but it has inspired me to dress better everyday, not just the few time sin my life I’m going to need to wear my nice new suit. I’d like to get some more sportcoats/blazers and dress shirts, as well as some respectable and interesting ties to wear with them. My tie collection consists of old hand-me0downs and novelty ties from high school, except for two new ones I’ve purchased this year. I need some better ties! I also want to wear some bow ties. I think they would look good on me.

My fiancé likes to harass me about the number of pants I own, but I think I’d like to get some more. I want to replace a number of older pairs that don’t fit me well or are just getting too old and worn to wear too many more times.

Lastly, I really like my one pair of shoes that I own (for fall and winter) and my pair of Tevas (for summer and warm spring days), but I’d like to get a few more pairs of shoes. Tonight, I’m going to buy a fancy pair of dress shoes to compliment my suit. In addition to those, I want a pair of flashy boots to wear on the weekends.

Maybe this newfound desire in my outfit is just me playing dress-up, but I’m quite excited to get some new clothes. I don’t think this makes me materialistic. I see it as a desire to allow others to see me as I think I should look. I like feeling comfortable, but I also want to look classy and respectable. This is going to be fun!

I’ve now read all of the “cannon” material on the Heroes website, as well as watched all of the episodes. I’d say I’m all caught up and ready for the season 2 premiere in September.
