Since I´m Dutch, I should have a huge advantage learning Norwegian as the two languages are very similar. I´ve decided to use Assimil´s Norwegisch ohne Mühe. The translations are in German, but I speak that language well enough so I should do okay.
I love the way the course introduces new concepts in a short story or conversation, some of the sentences get stuck in my head the rest of the day.

The only problem with learning languages is that it’s so hard to estimate your level of proficiency. When doing the course I feel like I already know a whole lot, but when reading a newspaper in Norwegian or watching an interview I still only get the basics of what people are saying.
So in addition to the Assimil course I’m just going to set a couple of goals for myself:
-Learn the most important verbs (to tell, to ask, to need, to use, etc.) in all forms
-Look up a list of the 2000 most commonly used words
-Listen to a Norwegian podcast everyday
-Read children’s books in Norwegian
