I went to a St. Louis Cardinal game at the beginning of August. I wore a “remembrance pin” in memory of Jim.

How I did it: I used $1000 from my tax refund. Now I will continue to add to the emergency savings. It feels like I have a great start. Suze Orman says 8 months worth of salary is a good amount to save. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I looked at photos. I also thought of favorite songs, because I've associated favorite songs with favorite times in my life. I talked with friends, too. Read how I did it…
My life verse is Luke 10:42 “but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
I chose this as my life verse because I want my life to be about slowing down enough to hear Jesus’s whispers.
”’This is the day that the Lord has made.’ This – the one I’m in right now. Not yesterday. As much as I want to reach back and relive something or reminisce or bring back somebody who’s gone or feel what I once felt – that’s all in the past. I can’t reach it, I can’t touch it, I can’t return to it even if I tried. The door is closed. This day – the one I’m standing in – is the day the Lord has made. This is the day. This is it. How I live this day is what matters.”
