For the past 8 or 9 months I have been staying with family in Idaho (lame) and now in Wisconsin (lame too). I have been doing this in an attempt to save up money to travel. I am still far from being able to afford any kind of trip but I have realized how much I hate living away from a city. I am so bored.

How I did it: One painfully cold January morning my boyfriend and I (both feeling the weight of that wonderful seasonal depression you can count on in the Midwest after the holidays have passed) walked into an antique shop hoping to forget our winter boredom in the magic that you find in those tiny, strange stores. We found ourselves standing in front of one of those gorgeous globes with each country carved from a different stone. I guess somethin… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Two years ago I had to get a root canal on one of my molars. This was back when I was still in college and had dental insurance through my parents. Some time after that I graduated and then was not covered by my parents insurance plan....therefore...now I can almost never afford to go to the dentist. After the root canal my tooth started to...i dunno...die? It was frustrating and gross and I was unable to chew food on that side of my mout… Read how I did it…
You’d think after 5 years of education and some $30,000 in student loans that I would be able to find a “Big Girl” job. Apparently all my college education has prepared me to do is sell over priced clothing to rich assholes. I can feel my soul dying a little more every time I say “Would you like to put that on your Nordstrom Visa?”
So maybe I never found out what was on the other side, but my cat did and he returned intact, albeit dirty and beaming with sassy pride for his adventure. Since then I have moved out of that attic and now live in an actual bedroom. About time I guess.
