Keeping it Clean.

It’s not that hard to spend a couple of hours to clean up a mess, but it’s definitely difficult to keep it clean while running a life. So what has helped me out immensely was keeping an am & pm checklist. For instance on the pm list, I would make sure everything’s put in place before I go to bed, i.e. papers stacked on desk, clothes in the bin or closet, towels on hooks, car keys on night stand (especially this one ‘cause I hate that I have to search for it in the morning when I’m already late), etc. In the morning I’ve got a similar list, but with a couple of other things I need to be sure of before I leave. Now when I bring home my lady friends, they don’t see such a mess as before. Pretty chill.

Women have better options.

Women have better options to help themselves with this problem. They’ve got nail polish chemicals and fake nails to wear. And then the reward of getting a manicure. The only tool a man’s got is his own will and usually he doesn’t get anywhere with this problem.

Such a sexist dilemma.

Methods to stop.

Aight so I have this same problem and since I’m cheap I also don’t want to buy a whole kit or spend time reading countless of books to figure out that I have OCD about biting my nails.

My problem has gotten so bad that I’m now biting my nails unconsciously. So the first step to accomplish is that I’ve got control over this. I learned this nice tip from a friend that helps deal with other intolerable acts and that is to wear a rubberband that has a nice stretchy snap. So each time I become aware that I’ve just bit my nails I’ll snap my rubberband around my wrist to give me a slight bit of pain. I’ve been told it would help psychologically to get back into the driver’s seat and slowly but surely regain control of this.

If anyone’s got better tips, please share. I’m all ears for them!
