by Isaac Bashevis Singer
After reading Eternal Treblinka I wanted to read some of Bashevis Singer’s books, to read around the animal related quotes. I took a few of his books from the library and started with this one. Unfortunately, the book is filled with religious, chauvinist and homophobic statements.
It had a few parts about animals and vegetarianism, but they are thrown away when the question of using tefillin arrives (made out of leather).

I can’t believe I had `vegan cupcakes take over the world` for so long before I made something out of it. I made chocolate cupcakes and going to decorate them soon. Cupcakes are so cute, I really believe they are going to take over the world (but only the vegan cupcakes, the others should be extinct).

While reading a book I tend to check where I am-half way through, X chapters from the end… I like getting close to the end, I like to chase the plot.
With this book I kept checking where I am, but I was happy when I had a lot more ahead of me and got depressed when I got close to the end. Knowing that this is the last book that we can have of Adams is simply sad. I want to read the 6th book in the hitchhiker series, I want to know if Gently finds the other half of the cat, I want to learn about endangered species in an amusing way and I want to hear more atheist jokes.
I guess I’ll just have to read it again.
