How I did it: It's a commitment so a better way of communicating. Don't feel bad for the phone company! Its a new world, they're going to have to figure it out. Linux is so close to being a full-fledged operating system. Being left-handed I can indentify with Linux – That’s how i visualize it – not for everyone – but for a certain percentage of people benefit from an alternative. My business plan calls for configuring an inexpensive box with a stable basic system for home users. With Firefox, Thunderbird, and OpenOffice and a good array of supporing programs I have a stable and nimble system running on a 233 Mhz MMX computer.
My plan is to make an image on a disk for my customers, format their HD, install, tweak a little for the machine, invent a generic user account and violia a new machine!
Huge project. Lots of decisions. But way worth it. Don’t contribute to urban sprawl! But one thing, you’re never done! It started just wanting a bathroom upstairs, but the project evolved into a whole house – knock out walls – build another section – what the heck go ahead and replace alllll the wiring. Yes, its expensive, but its the best investment you can make.
