Did you come to it, or is it inherited (raised that way)?

71. Sitting by the campfire.
72. Hiking through the wilderness. Imagining that at some time no one had even been there and wondering if there are still corners of the planet never trodden.
73. Surprises, like the mushroom growing on my window sill.
74. Lists. To do, goals, Christmas, I like making lists. Just ask my wife. She finds them “all over the place.”
75. Wine. I know I have alcohol on this list but wine holds a special place in my heart. The design of the bottle, the colour, the bouquet, how it has 2, 3 sometimes 4 different tastes in each sip. Wine why are you so good?
76. Silly talk. Thanks to my children I’ve rediscovered it. My employees get freaked out by it.
77. Power tools. Any tools. Make my life easier.
78. Jumping on the trampoline.
79. Video games. Playing with my boys.
80. Baseball.
81. Hockey.
82. The Olympic Games.
83. Abstract Art. Staring at it trying to find images within and asking myself why am I seeing that? Thank you Kandinsky.
84. My symbol. I no longer initial anything.
85. Flashlights. I have about a dozen of them. I am not alone in this.
86. The idea that technology will make my life easier. I don’t know if it does or not, but the idea that it does makes me happy. I hope bionics are available before I get too old.
87. Sportstalk. Started with John Short when I was young and going to sleep. Now Dan Russell keeps me company while I work.
88. Vocabulary. English has venerable plethora of words. More than any other if I’m not mistaken. I enjoy the richness of choice available to me whenever I construct a sentence.
89. Driving at night.
90. Quiet time. Niching out some space for yourself to deflate in the middle of a hectic day.
91. Being right. This gets me in trouble but I still like to proven right. Best savoured quietly to oneself.
92. Spicy foods. If it makes me sweat it is somehow a grander culinary experience.
93. The idea of infinity, the endless universe (that is expanding. Into what?) and time. In a tactility finite world, limitless concepts tickle my mind.
94. Telling jokes. Some people think I’m hilarious others just seem to groan. I am still trying determine what causes the difference.
95. Our interconnected world. No time in history has humanity been so interconnect through commerce and communication.
96. Pockets. Imagine having to carry all that stuff. Phone, money, keys, I.D. receipts . . . I hope the man purse never really catches on, because I am trying real hard to keep it simple. Pockets allow that. I carry more stuff in winter because of the jacket pockets.
97. Good dreams, the ones you don’t want to wake up from.
What have I done? Bought a big ass house. My wife started working and then stopped to have our daughter. I’ve pretty much given up pop. Lost 25 pounds . . . gained 10 back. I have been fostering my inner chef with occasional success, sorry family. I am more at peace, happy more often.
Failing at physical and social goals. Life seems too chaotic right now for rituals. My wife sets daily goals that often include maintain. She is right. Having 3 kids does take away from personal aspirations. All of sudden your goals are centered around your children. I hope I never have to include those goals on 43T. 43T is about me . . . sorta.
I know I can do better. At the same time I sometimes wonder can there ever be a time where I can say good enough, I’ve done it! Behind everything is that hope of arrival. Of sitting back saying good enough. Or is it in my nature to focus on the deficients and strive to counter / eradicate them. This begs the deeper question of is it easier to strive for what you want or to be satisfied with what you have?
Anyway, a year and a bit later. Reading my list hmmm . . . some of these things don’t fit anymore. I’ll be changing them. But not now because it is late. Well actually not, but I go to bed much earlier now, most nights. Part of my pseudo night time routine. So, I go do that now.
