become better at bellydance
I'm no dancer, but.. 14 months ago

I’ve found such a passion in Bellydance. It’s nothing I’ll do professionally. I’ll probably never even perform. I’ve never been very flexible, fluid. Dance has always been a foreign language to my body. I took Bellydance when I was 10 and being totally unmotivated it didn’t last long.

I only started taking classes again in Janurary at my college. Not only is the teacher, Angela, amazing. But my body is really understanding it. It’s very weird for me. I’m by no far the best. But I’m able to move in ways I never could have imagined, and I never thought my body could be beautiful.

I’m finding a passion for this dance outside of fangirling like I spent the previous 18 years of my life doing. It’s not only helping me get over some body image issues I’ve always had, it’s building stength, flexibility, muscle, and fluidity. I’ve lost some weight. And I feel impowered, and beautiful when I dance. It’s a great way to escape, it’s so relaxing, and just fun.

I think it’s been on of the greatest recent changes in my life. It’s really helped build a confidence I never thought I could have.

Of course I’m still a girl and have my issues. And I’m not the best dancer. But. I feel real good about this. ♥
