Well, they do make it hard to pick. Unfortunately, it is possible. I found that out today. And just when my legs were starting to look good! My mom made a comment, about how since they were clearing up, it should make me want to pick less. Ha! I’ve been feeling all the little bumps on my skin since I got my nails done, and haven’t tried too hard. But this afternoon, I caved and actually picked. Just a little bit, but I still did. I’m probably going to ruin my nails.
Oh, other things that I think contributes to my picking are my PPD and fighting with my husband. When we fight, I pick. I don’t know if I’m taking out my anger at him on me, or I’m doing it to spite him because I know he hates it. And my depression, whenever I start feeling down about myself, I look at all the nasty stuff I’ve picked, and think: why not? I don’t look good now, it won’t make a difference.
This is really frustrating. I haven’t gotten any stars in, two days, I think. But it’s only because I catch myself feeling and picking at little imperfections here and there and don’t stop myself. I haven’t had any pickfests.
So I have nothing rewarding. No stars. No sick satisfaction that comes with a pick fest. Just nothing.
I’m getting my acrylic nails tomorrow. Maybe that will help me get some stars.
