Learn to play the guitar
Time to get serious... 2 years ago

No, seriously. Been playing guitar on and off for a few years now and let me tell you; I’m amazing at playing the beginning of all sorts of songs!
See, I’m an actor and every once in a while you get to play that thing on-stage for some character. And I love it. But my knowledge of playing is so specific that I have no versatility at all; know some chords, know some finger-picking patterns.
So the purpose here of this mini-blog will be to detail a backing up, if I may, of the learning train to fundamentalville.
But how? You could spend days searching the internet for free tips/podcasts, etc., you could buy a book at Barnes & Noble and sit there on your own, you could venture out into the big, bright, New York Wide Open and spend some dough on private lessons, OR you could do what I’m doing and buy “The Rolls Royce of Guitar Training Programs”- the Learn and Master Guitar Program, with Steve Krenz. Oh yeah. Can you feel it?
And is soon as it shows up- I’ll let you know how it goes. Insider tip- don’t buy at full price! It goes on sale every so often(once a month or so-not sure) and you can save 100 bucks or so. Plus, they have payment plans that are pretty painless. BTW- I have no affiliation with “Master Guitar”. Don’t even know if it’s any good yet. Everywhere I look, though, it seems to be the real deal- do the research.
For the record- I play an ovation acoustic hard-back dealy and it’s a bit of a pain to play- action’s high and it kills my fingers, barre chords are near impossible to do right. Basically- it’s a real guitar and I’m not yet a real guitar player- so maybe a good starter guitar is on the horizon? We’ll see.
Keep practicing, people! It’s your dream; dream it you dreamers!
