In the summer, I decided that I wanted to start a blog, so I set up an account and posted (drumroll, please) one entry. Not very prolific, I know, but it is a start. After much deliberation I have set the focus of my blog on short, hopefully funny/entertaining pieces centered around a topic related to my interests, however mundane. For example, my first post was my confession to the world about my diet coke addiction. Not pulitzer prize winning material for sure, but those are the types of things I like to read about, so writing about the same topics seemed natural.

I feel so lame saying this, but I really am addicted to diet coke. Some people wake up and have several cups of some fancy gourmet coffee and wax on about how they just can’t live without their coffee. And while people who make this assertion can sound a wee bit pretentious, I can’t help but feeling a twinge of jealousy, because at least a dependence on fancy coffee is respectable, even somewhat cool. I instead, am dependent on an artifically sweetened, carbonated, not very cool beverage. Veronica in Heathers (otherwise known as Winona Ryder before the Marc Jacobs shoplifting debacle) said it best. I am a “diet coke head.”
So I finally convinced the boyfriend today that it is time for a new addition to the family. Chumbles is our very cute, very fat rabbit, and I feel he needs an equally cute and fat girl bunny with whom he can live and hang out with. We started looking at pictures on Petfinder tonight, and I am hoping that we will look a bit more seriously this weekend.
