How I did it: We tried the shelter route for quite a while because I believe there are lots of great dogs out there looking for homes... sadly we did not find one that was a match for us. We work full time and needed an adult dog that was relatively well trained as we would not have the time to do so ourselves. I found out about Casey through a contact that shows labs... he was bred to be shown, a year old but not cut out for the show ring.... they wer… Read how I did it…

Hardboiled Wonderland and the End of the World 22 months ago

I have slowed down a little lately… I keep falling asleep on the train when I could be reading.

I skipped posting one book… After Abundance (which was awesome if you like historical fiction), I read Everything Is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer. It sounds like a sad story of a jewish family impacted by the Nazi invasion – but it is actually a funny and almost magical account of a bizarre family tree.

Now I am about half way through Hardboiled Wonderland and the End of the World by Haruki Murakami… so far it is great… exploring the concept and constraints of the mind as only he could.

GOAL! 22 months ago

I did it! It took me a little over 6 months to loose 30 pounds. Now the new goal is to keep it off.

Less than a pound to go 23 months ago

I posted a 1.4 pound loss this week!

I can’t believe I only have 0.8 pound left. I was hoping to reach my goal as a XMAS gift to me… oh well – 29.2 pounds is enough of a gift to put a smile on my face. Hopefully I can get through the holidays unscathed and reach my goal for the new year.
