Everything I do, everything I’ve always done, has always been for someone else. I learned at a young age that life was easier if you just pleased everyone, did everything you were told, and stayed quiet. You didn’t get hurt that way.

Now that I’m older…I feel as if I’m not my own person. What do I like? What makes me happy? What do I want to do? You’d think those were simple questions, but I’m struggling with the answers. I feel hollow and empty. Devoid of life, as if I lost it long ago. Truth is, I think I did loose it. I stopped wanting to live when I was eight years old. I’m still not sure if I want to. But…I don’t know if I’ve ever truely felt alive in the first place. Can a soul die and the body keep on living? Because…I think that may have happened to me.

I’d like to revive myself. Try to do things that make me feel alive and genuinely happy. I hope I can do that.
