I did this the first day that I got a PC back in 1997.
Fortunately I had the windows 95 cdrom and the boot floppy so it was really easy to reinstall.
All you need to remember is to back up your essential files first and to make sure you have the driver disks for your hardware. Windows will detect some hardware but not all.
