Not really sure what to say about this, but Javier Bardem… holy crap he’s nice to look at. I also really like Penelope Cruz more in this movie than I have in other things that I’ve seen her in. I haven’t watched her in a ton of movies, and I really know nothing about acting, but she’s always kind of seemed like the same person. Maybe I just liked her more in this movie because like her character I’m a little unbalanced romantically… and I find it really satisfying to fight in Spanish. If I’m going to suffer anyway, I might has well throw in a few creative flourishes, right? I’ve never used a gun though, or tried to stab anyone. Clearly, there are limits.
I’m going to ask her if she plans on going tomorrow morning… Kickboxing doesn’t really appeal to me at all, probably because I can’t imagine that I’ll be very good at it. On the other hand, I can’t really imagine my friend liking it either, and she’s crazy about going to the classes… I think that she’s only missed one in 4 months.
I also think that starting my day out by imagining that I’m punching a sleazy race horse driver in the face for making unsolicited sexual comments would be kind of a nice way to start the morning. Now that track gossip has it that I’m back with Efrain, my gorgeous and kind (to me at least…) but kind of mean looking ex-boyfriend, they’ve backed off, but a couple of weeks ago, 3 different MARRIED drivers propositioned me within about an hour. I’m 60 lbs overweight, have no idea how to flirt, and go to the track in a ponytail and dirty old work clothes, so it’s not really that I’m unresistible… it’s more that they imagine that they’re somehow entitled to women thinking that they’re a big deal. Most of them are pigs but harmless, but there are rumours that one of them tried to rape a woman at the track a couple of weeks ago. I don’t know… leaving bellydance class, I always feel pretty tough and confident, but in all honesty, I’ve never punched anyone or anything. Not that I’d absolutely do it unless physically threatened, but feeling that I could knock someone’s teeth out might be pretty good for me.
