Well I’m back on the wagon. It has been quite a while since I’ve been motivated enough to seriously diet again. About a year ago, I lost 25 pounds and I just loved all the attention I was getting for it. Everyone noticed and kept telling me how great I looked. I have managed to keep it off (well I keep bouncing between 5 pounds). But now I am ready to lose more. I am still a big girl and I want to be thinner and healthier. So tomorrow morning I will begin again. I am thinking about the Smash diet. Has anyone tried it?

I had a piece of fried chicken yesterday…I was bad :(
So today I’m going to exercise for 15 minutes longer than I usually do. I just have to remember not to stop when I mess up on my diet. I often fall into that trap. I’ll eat stuff that I’m not supposed to and then say oh well, I messed up on my diet today…I might as well just start over tomorrow (and then immediately pig-out for the rest of the day!). But not this time. I’m bound to make mistakes sometimes, but this time, I won’t let it stop me!
Something that I want to do to become a better muslimah is memorize more du’as (prayers). On the Day of Judgement, I want to be written as a person who is grateful to Allaah (SWT) and in order to achieve this I must remember Him more often.
So the prayer that I am going to try to memorize today is the prayer that we should say when we leave the house:
Bismillahi tawakkaltu ‘alal-lahi wa la hawla wa la quwwata ‘illa billah
Which means: In the Name of Allaah, I trust in Allaah and there is no strength nor power except with Allaah.
